The Crew
The Founder
As an Oakland Bay Area artist and storyteller (film/fiction/painting/photography), I began working to
realize the freeblacksouls.com site in May 2006 in part to realize my personal quest for balance between
my artistic/spiritual endeavors and the practical matters of day to day living. Visioning a world where
black folks reclaim our
interdependence, my hope is that the site might be one link in a the long chain of
activism and innovation it will take to bring morning light for our new day.  I am currently fundraising
for my feature length film, "She Wasn't Last Night." An all black, all female cast, exploring the downfall of a
relationship and how the
woman spirit rises. Contact Free Black Souls
