A Space Where Black People Share Tools for Living
There are so many Black folks innovating solutions and making them work in black communities from
Oakland to DC, from Ghana to Haiti. Sometimes this liberation work feels like it's happening in isolation.
The writer, the painter, and spoken word artist feel disconnected from the small grocer, the hair shop owner,
the teacher. This site seeks to create a space where we can connect with each other and share what works,
acknowledging fully our shared ancestry and hopefully sparking dialogues that lead to shared visions of our
future. In addition we seek to participate in the healing processes necessary for our collective growth. We
seek to embrace a healthy balance between the inspirational and the practical, moving always back and forth
between our inner voice and real action. We believe that ALL souls worldwide deserve to be free -- and Black
liberation is a positive vehicle toward the world liberation.

We can free a BLACK world
When we do our part both in community work and as individuals to facilitate work for those
people closest to us, those we influence, electricity is unleashed and we all receive that energy.
We can set the stage to free the WHOLE world
As we tell the truth about the historical roots of color hatred and the ways in which it still
determines the fates of dark skinned people all over the world, we can start to change it. In a just
world in relation to skin color, we can work together, maintaining cultural integrity, to free the
whole world.
